Welcome to the Flat Cats slide show. Here you will see a demonstration of how easy it is to fit a Flat Cat and how effective they are. Please use the controls above the image to move the presentation forward.
Flat Cats are delivered with the self adhesive window attachements already in place against the corresponding block on the Flat Cat
You can see that the blocks simply pull apart (they are very strong though) - At this stage, before the Flat Cat is fitted, leave the adhesive protective paper in place
A corner of a Flat Cat showing the connector pad after pulling away from the Flat Cat. Before fitting, join the two pads together on the Flat Cat.
Holding the Flat Cat against your window (with the paper adhesive covers still in place) make sure that the Flat Cat is the correct size both in width and height. As long as the pads will make good contact with the window frame the size is good. In some cases the Flat Cat may have a turn over at the top. This is normal and allows for some windows having gas vents at the top
Remove the paper covers while leaving the pads in place against the Flat Cat. Remove just the two bottom papers at the moment. The bottom pads are the ones in the corners of the Flat Cat. The top pads are slightly lower than the corner of the Flat Cat
Holding the Flat Cat carefully and making sure that the pads on either side have good contact with the window frame carefully push the adhesive side against the window frame making sure that each corner is as close to the window sill as possible.
Firmly push each pad against the frame to make sure that the adhesive creates a good bond with the window frame
At this stage you can see that the bottom bads are secure against the window frame (the Flat Cat is still attached). Now, we can proceed to fixing the middle pads. Again, remove the papers from the pads and carefully raise the Flat Cat making sure that it is taught between the bottom and middle pads.
Here you can see that we are sticking the middle pads to the window frame. Note that the Flat Cat is still attached to make sure that it will be taut against the window frame.
Finally we do the same with the pads at the top of the Flat Cat. That is it, your Flat Cat is now in place
The completed Flat Cat is now in place. We suggest that you leave the Flat Cat attached to the pads for around 10 minutes to allow the adhesive to grip the frame fully.
You can see how unobtrusive the Flat Cat is. The left of the picture does not have a Flat Cat but the right does. The Flat Cat is nearly invisible from outside and does not stop light (and most importantly) air, getting into your room
The finsihed item. Neatly sitting against the window frame. To open the window or to remove the Flat Cat altogether simply pull the Flat Cat carefully from the pads with a peeling motion.
Here you can see the Flat Cat being removed. In most cases people tend to leave the Flat Cat in place even when the window is closed and usually you will only need to open the flat cat at two points in order to open and close the window. The Flat Cat can of course be totally removed in seconds
You may wish to tidy up the pads on the window frame by cutting where they overlap the frame. Overlap is totaly normal as many windows are very slightly different sizes.
An open window without a Flat Cat is inviting to your cat and can be dangerous if they decide to walk out to look around.
Protected by the Flat Cat, Wilfred is quite happy to sit all day and watch the world go by in safety.
